Procurement Dept.
Speedy and secure supply of raw materials is our mission.
We develop a robust supply chain while also keeping an eye on overseas developments!
At SHIN-NAKAMURA CHEMICAL, bold reforms are underway as we approach our 90th anniversary. The Procurement Dept. was created as part of these reforms. Functions that used to be performed by the Management Dept. have been split off and made into an independent team, marking a new start.
The new Procurement Dept. has also gained two new members, helping give the team a little more leeway. We are now looking to take up challenges we have not been able to before.
Key themes for us are ensuring stable supply and reducing costs by strengthening the supply chain as well as improving the quality of our raw materials. Based on the relationships of trust we have cultivated with our suppliers throughout our long years of business, we will move onto the next stage.
Daily communication and trust is the foundation of outstanding procurement capabilities
We will be significantly impacted if deliveries from suppliers are cut off due to large-scale natural disasters or accidents. In the 80 years since our founding, we have faced a variety of difficulties.
Despite this, we have not once had a supply outage. Small suppliers stepped in to help out when key large manufacturers were unable to supply.
We believe that we and our suppliers are equals. We have striven to work with our partners in a mutually beneficial way, rather than fixating only on prices, and we believe this attitude has enabled us to build solid relationships of trust.
At the same time, we are working to reduce our costs.
In order to ensure we are procuring materials at appropriate prices, we will continue to carry out price negotiations while also searching for new supply partners.
In anticipation of the possibility that suppliers may scale down when manufacturers restructure, we now have our eyes on overseas suppliers, in areas such as China, South East Asia, and India, in addition to domestic vendors.
Ensuring quality is also a pressing matter. To this end, we will work to source suppliers of high-quality materials that pass our customers’ stringent standards.
With the creation of the New Business Dept., it is only to be expected that we will be seeing an increase in supply of materials we have never handled before. We will expand our supplier base with a broad perspective and build a robust supply chain.
